We all know that every problem has a solution, thus here are some of the solutions/implementations we offer to help you prevent adolescent pregnancy.

    1. Tailor sexual and reproductive health programs and services to the needs of adolescence.

Adolescents will be able to make more informed judgments and choices about their sexual and reproductive health if sexual and reproductive health programs and services are tailored to their needs. According to service providers, it is critical to tailor sexual and reproductive health care to the needs of adolescents in order to reduce stigma, unplanned pregnancy, abortion, and sexually transmitted illnesses.

    2. Raising girls’ awareness of their sexual and reproductive health and rights.

“Access to sexual and reproductive health and rights is extremely crucial for young people. It provides medical care and comprehensive sexuality education, which gives them vital information about their sexualities, sensuality and gender identities and expression. It also allows them bodily autonomy and power over their lives,” -Poppy Stanbury

“Having access to sexual and reproductive health and rights can decrease child marriage, decrease teenage pregnancies and prevent transmission of sexually transmitted infections. It is a topic that affects so many different realms of people's lives however, it is often not seen to matter as much because it is assumed to not necessarily outright affect food, shelter or health, but it really does.”-Poppy Stanbury

    3. Implement comprehensive education on sexuality and relationships in and out of schools.

As they advance from childhood to adulthood, too many young people receive confused and contradictory information about relationships and sex. This has resulted in an increase in the desire from young people for reliable information that will prepare them for a safe, productive, and meaningful life. When delivered well, CSE meets this demand by empowering young people to make informed decisions about relationships and sexuality, as well as navigate a world where gender-based violence, gender inequality, early and unintended pregnancies, HIV, and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to pose serious threats to their health and well-being. Similarly, a lack of high-quality, age- and developmentally appropriate sexuality and relationship education may expose children and adolescents to dangerous sexual behaviors and sexual exploitation.

CSE plays a crucial role in addressing children and young people's health and well-being. Applying a learner-centered approach, CSE not only provides age-appropriate and phased education on human rights, gender equality, relationships, reproduction, sexual behavior risks, and disease prevention, but it also provides an opportunity to present sexuality in a positive light, emphasizing values such as respect, inclusion, non-discrimination, equality, empathy, responsibility, and reciprocity.

    4. Safe contraception to tackle the root causes of adolescent pregnancy.

Health care providers can play an important role in increasing contraceptive use and STD prevention. Success in this area could have a significant impact on adolescent pregnancy rates: the pregnancy rate among young couples who have been sexually active for one year without using contraception is 85 percent, and 15 to 30 percent of sexually active teenagers do not use contraception.

Family members are urged to participate actively in sex education programs since family norms and expectations influence an adolescent's values and sense of sexual responsibility.
